Twice Upon a Time
It all began on a lively night in 2011 when Kirk stepped out for a guy’s night, ready for the usual fun and camaraderie. Little did he know, fate had other plans. Across the room, his eyes fell upon a radiant young woman in a white dress—Ashley. She was dazzling, and Kirk couldn’t help but notice how effortlessly she lit up the room. But as the night ticked on, he realized his window of opportunity was closing. Ashley was preparing to leave with her friends.
Inside, a voice urged him: “You can’t let her walk away. At least try.” Summoning courage, Kirk made his way to her. With an earnest plea and an honest charm, he convinced her to stay a little longer. Just long enough to exchange phone numbers and plant the seeds of what would become a budding relationship.
For five wonderful years, Kirk and Ashley built something beautiful. They laughed, grew, and navigated the highs and lows of love. But life, as it sometimes does, pulled them in different directions. They went their separate ways, carrying with them the memories of what once was.
Fast forward five years. Kirk, by now a little older and wiser, was out again with friends. In the midst of laughter and movement, he clumsily bumped into someone. “Oh, I’m so sorry!” he said, glancing up. His words faltered as he realized who stood before him—Ashley.
If Cupid had been watching from a distance all these years, this was his cue. Not one to squander a good story, the mischievous matchmaker took aim and struck again. Sparks reignited in an instant. There was no resentment, no awkwardness—just an overwhelming desire to reconnect. They talked and talked, as if no time had passed, and something even deeper began to take root.
From that chance encounter, Kirk and Ashley started building anew. This time, with more intention, more faith, and a clearer vision for their future together. They grew closer not just in love but in spirit, grounding their relationship in shared values and a commitment to building a family.
In November 2020, Kirk asked Ashley to embark on forever with him. Since then, they’ve welcomed their greatest blessing: a joyful, curious son named Kirk Lewis III. They’ve worked on their relationship and on themselves, creating a home filled with love and laughter. Ashley even moved closer to Kirk in Plano, TX, to nurture their growing family.
